Aberdeen make the trip to Ibrox this weekend with FIVE players missing from their starting lineup.

The Dons face Rangers on Sunday afternoon but will be without some of their key men for the visit after Niall McGinn became the latest player to be ruled out. Northern Irishman McGinn, 33, is likely to be out three weeks at least with a calf issue.

Dons manager Derek McInnes admitted his disappointment at losing McGinn but accepted it was part-and-parcel of releasing players to play for their national sides. "Niall unfortunately got injured against Slovakia and will miss our next three games with a calf injury," he said. "Unfortunately that is the trade-off of those extra international games."

He joins Marley Watkins, Dylan McGeouch and Jonny Hayes on the treatment table while Ross McCrorie will be unavailable to play against his parent club.

McGinn will also likely miss Aberdeen's Betfred Cup game against St Mirren the following weekend.

Rangers may be without Steven Davis who was forced to withdraw from the Northern Ireland squad for Nations League action through 'personal reasons', though it is not yet known whether or not the captain will return to club football.
